Jaisalmer is a city located in Rajasthan which is 275Kilmtre from the Jodhpur city; you can even call this city golden city. It is founded by Raja Rawal Jaisal who was a Bhatti Rajput ruler. Unlike any other city, this desert fortress is one of Rajasthan’s most exotic and unusual towns. Jaisalmer, an important ancient trading centre because of its strategic location on the camel trade routes, is often described as the ‘golden city’. The havelis, built by merchants of the 19th century, are exquisitely carved from golden-yellow sandstone and are still in a beautiful condition. The fort built by Rawal Jaisal in the 12th century, stands on the 80 metre high Trikuta hill, with beautifully carved Jain temples.

Jaisalmer Fort

This fort is a great fort to see and you can easily rent a car to visit this fort, it is made from sand stone because of which local people call it as Sonar Quila. The fort itself is made up of havelis, ancient jain temples and five interrelated forts. There are four gateways to approach the fort that are Hava Pol, Suraj Pol, Ganesh Pol and Akhaiyal. This fort is the second oldest one in the state and the wells inside the fort are capable enough to give constant water supply in today date also. The fort is huge in structures as well as it 250ft tall and castellated wall made from stand stone which is also tall by 30 ft.

Patwon ki Haveli

Jaisalmer is a city of beautiful yet big havelis and this one is considered to be the most highly structured and outstanding of all. The beauty of the haveli lies in its gracefully engraved pillars, widespread halls and chambers.

Gadsisar Lake

This lake is great place to hang out in evenings and it has gorgeous temples around. If you are looking for place to relax then the lake is good place.

Khuri

A place located in the desert close to the Pakistan border; it is around 40 KM in distance from the Jaisalmer city close to the border of Pakistan, this place is really quite and beautiful.

Sam Sand Dunes

If you like taking pictures then this is a delight for you; you can never end your journey without going to sam sand dues. This place is situated at 42 km from Jaisalmer.

Nathmalji ki Haveli

This is a very famous havaeli especially for its craftsmanship and wonderful small paintings on the walls of internal parts of the haveli.
